It's a new type of fast that I'm not entirely familiar with. It's a "Huh, look at that. We're doing 110" type of fast.

So as promised, this is the rest of the garage !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I had shown you. This is the main garage attached to the house where the daily drivers live. It's used mainly for quick shots to the shops and very quick drives from Kansas the Key West, Florida.

Pictured here is a 2014 BMW Alpina B7. Prices start at $132,200.

I don't really know the number of these imported to states; one of you guys might. I know the number is low, and what makes it extra special is that the owner's son also owns a 2013 Alpina B7.

A lot of everything driving wise is typical new bimmer. The steering doesn't quite feel like it did in the E46's and older, but everything's very well screwed together. I was surprised how quick the steering ratio was for a 7-Series. It's very comfortable and very quiet, but the MPH will just start creeping up while you don't notice, much like that girl you're trying to avoid or a friend's birthday you don't want to buy a gift for. It feels the exact same going 100+ as it does going 40; It's that solid.

Yes, the man pictured there is the owner of the car. He may be old, and mostly has other people drive him in it, but this man has created a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and even !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The BMW is mostly for his wife, so here's his daily driver.

Good taste prevailed. Sidenote, I thought the Hammers were the 4 doors?

My friend bought a '96 S Class for his first car. He mentioned freeway driving was a much more involved task because of how easy it was to miss how fast he you were going in a car like that. I can only imagine what its like in a B7.

I don't know enough about old AMGs to tell you. He said it was a Hammer.

Lulz it's a car you want to set the cruise control in.

It could be... I just remember when the first one came out, it was the Sedan. The may have later put the engines into the Coupe as well.

This is a man of exquisite taste. I am now convinced suspenders must be cool, because the man with a W126 AMG coupe wears them.

IIRC, a Hammer could be made from any W124-chassis vehicle. They even made a wagon version!

I work in a fairly wealthy beach town. On a summer weekend there is like 6 of these in town. That's how wealthy.

I test drove an e38 740li and even this older more base model shocked me with how it would invisibly accelerate. I used my standard highway merging process of find a gap and WOT and taper off to cruising speed. I do this by feel all the time and never usually look at the speedo. I glance down after I had merged Oh, I seem to be doing over 100 I typically aim for 60.

I bet. I'd also be willing to bet that highway exit ramps can be tricky too. I know I nearly killed myself the first day I bought a 15 year old 5 series because I wasn't used to checking my speedometer before exiting, and all of the sudden, traction control was desperately trying to rein in a one heck of a surprise drift, and I was trying to resist the urge to soil my trousers. I imagine the B7 is a solid 10x more isolating than that.

I wish I knew what this thing was like on all of the real road, but I only drove it on a 3 mile closed stretch or rural 55mph just outside of town. Their big Jalop estate is built right where they've been doing construction. With the Pantera, we were easily able to jump it up to speed because we didn't have to worry about anyone on the road, but with the Bimmer this time there was a lot of dirt and rocks left on the road from the crews.

I'd love to have it for a week to get a more rounded feel, but I can only test their generosity so far.

Saw one of those recently too. They're mostly notable for the interior work, from what I understand. In fact, I'm not even sure how much they touch the motor. They tweak it a bit but nothing radical to my understanding.
